A fair coin is flipped three times. What is the probability of getting exactly two heads?

Possible outcomes: HHT, HTH, THH (3 ways).

Answer: 3/8, or 37.5%

A bag contains 3 green, 2 yellow, and 5 red balls. If one ball is drawn at random, what is the probability it is either green or yellow?

Green or yellow = 3 + 2 = 5 balls
Total balls = 3 + 2 + 5 = 10

Probability = 5/10 = ½ or 50%.

Two dice are rolled. What is the probability that the sum is 7?

Pairs that give 7: (1,6), (2,5), (3,4), (4,3), (5,2), (6,1) → 6 outcomes.
Total outcomes = 6 × 6 = 36.

Probability = 6/36 = 1/6 or or approximately 16.67%.

A class has 30 students, 18 are boys. If one student is chosen at random, what is the probability they are a girl?

Girls = 30 - 18 = 12.
Probability = 12/30 = 2/5 or 40%

The probability of rain on Monday is 0.4 and on Tuesday is 0.6. Assuming independence, what is the probability it rains on both days?

0.4 × 0.6 = 0.24 or 24%.

A biased die has probabilities: P(1) = 0.1, P(2) = 0.2, P(3) = 0.1, P(4) = 0.3, P(5) = 0.2. What is P(6)?

Total probability = 1.
P(6) = 1 - (0.1 + 0.2 + 0.1 + 0.3 + 0.2) = 1 - 0.9 = 0.1 (or 10%).

A bag contains 6 blue and 4 red marbles. Two marbles are drawn at random without replacement. What is the probability both are blue?

First blue: 10/6

Second blue: 5/9

Probability = 10/6 x 5/9 = 30/90 = 1/3 or approximately 33.3%.

A spinner has 8 equal sections numbered 1 to 8. What is the probability of spinning a number greater than 5?

Numbers greater than 5: (6, 7, 8) → 3 numbers

Probability = 3/8 or 37.5%.

A football team wins 60% of its matches. What is the probability that it wins two matches in a row?

0.6 × 0.6 = 0.36 or 36%.

A person plays a game where they have a 25% chance of winning each time. If they play twice, what is the probability that they lose both games?

Probability of losing once = 1 - 0.25 = 0.75.
Probability of losing twice = 0.75 × 0.75 = 0.5625 or 56.25%.
